Fundación MIR receives US$25,000 from Scotiabank

In an event that took place on Tuesday August 26th at the school for boys, MIR Esperanza, Fundación MIR received for the second consecutive year a special donation from Scotiabank – US$25,000 dollars – to sponsor the school’s automotive mechanics program.

Dr. Hudson and volunteers of Columbia University to return to La Romana for the Fundación MIR’s annual “Oral Health Outreach”

From the 17th to the 22nd of March, Dr. Hudson, the personal dentist of Pepe Fanjul along with a group of volunteer dentists and surgeons from the Columbia University in New York, will be in La Romana offering dental services to the pupils of the Fundación MIR schools.

Ex Miss Universe Dayanara Torres takes a tour of the Fundación MIR schools in La Romana

Dayanara Torres, a Puerto Rican actress, singer, model, and former Miss Universe visited the Casa de Campo resort in January as the Mistress of Ceremonies for the Fundación MIR’s Magical Splendor for Life Gala and Fashion Show and as well as enjoying the beautiful resort, she also took the time to visit the Fundación MIR’s schools.

Italian Chef Paolo De Vita, from the exclusive Tracadero restaurant, teaches boys and girls at MIR’s vocational schools

Italian chef Paolo De Vita, who works at Tracadero in Bayahibe has just started as a volunteer teacher at the Fundación MIR’s schools; the MIR Esperanza (boys vocational school), the Escuela Tecnica Vocacional Fundación MIR (girls vocational school), sharing his extensive cooking and catering knowledge with the students.
