Día de Reyes MIR Boys

On Friday the 15th, the students of preschool and primary level (4-8 years old) received an awesome visit… The 3 Kings: Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar!

The children all neatly dressed in their Fundación MIR uniform, sat patiently waiting for the event to start. The stage was filled with all kinds of balls, board games, dolls, and toy cars. Imagine how giddy they were just thinking about leaving with a gift in hand! The event began with a prayer by Sister Patricia Pineda, and were followed by the words of encouragement from Fundación MIR’s Director, Ronald Maidens.

The kids shared what they believed “giving” is, and created the most beautiful and thoughtful examples; such as, giving shoes to a cousin. It makes us believe and remember that there is still so much good in the world.

The moment arrived for the 3 Kings to visit and each child left with a present and a goodie bag filled with candy and sweets! Cristina Fernández, Primary School Director said, It is a great achievement for all of us to bring smiles and dreams once more to those who deserve it, our children in MIR.”

We certainly hope that during the holidays you also had the opportunity to bring joy and happiness to those around you, not necessarily in the form of a gift, but with love, sharing quality time, and caring. Any small gesture counts; you never know what the other person is going through and what they might be needing the most. We want to congratulate Fundación MIR for all the work they’ve done and continue to do on behalf of the children and young adults of La Romana and its surroundings.
