Foodie-alert! Just last week we had a delicious “Flavors of the World” event with three top chefs from Santo Domingo, and in just two short weeks there will be a new edition in Casa de Campo, “Flavors of the World Miami” bringing in the experts from the Pubbelly Group, the Matador Room, and Alter!!
“Flavors of the World,” is a gastronomic journey highlighting the collection of casual, gourmet, and fine-dining options in Casa de Campo that are monthly occurrences through November. Internationally-renowned chefs work alongside the resort’s creative culinary team led by Executive Chef Anthony Masas in the creation of unique, weekend-long culinary affairs featuring various dishes from around the world. There have been 2 events already; the first falling in May with Two Michelin Starred Chef Fernando Arellano of Spain who is known for his contemporary take on Mallorcan cuisine, and the second in last week’s Dominican edition with Anthony Masas side by side with Chef Tita from Travesías restaurant, and Giancarlo Bonarelli and Steve Provost from Bottega Fratelli.
On July 15th, we have the honor of welcoming guest Chef Jose Mendin of the Pubbelly Group, and special friends Chef Jeremy Ford of the Matador Room by Jean-Georges and Chef Bradley Kilgore of Alter. “Flavors of the World” will highlight the culinary destination of Miami. Chef Mendin is a five-time James Beard Award nominee for Best Chef in the South, Chef Ford won the title of Top Chef Season 13, and Chef Kilgore received his first James Beard nomination this year for Rising Star Chef.
Chef Mendin recently brought Pubbelly Sushi to the Marina at Casa de Campo as an extension of his popular Pubbelly restaurant concepts in South Florida. Mendin & Friends and will be serving a family-style menu for dinner on Friday, July 15th at Pubbelly Sushi and will follow-up with a special BBQ at Minitas Beach on July 16th. To wrap up this delicious weekend, there will be a special brunch at Pubbelly Sushi on Sunday, July 17th.

Looking ahead, the 4th “Flavors of the World” will capture Italy in none other than one of our favorite and longtime restaurants in La Piazzetta in Altos de Chavón on August 19th! Last night when I was out at La Morela in the Marina Casa de Campo, rocking my bump at A Night For The Kids, I was thrilled to see Pubbelly Sushi for the first time – and even more excited to see it open.
