Giving and good times at the Hogar del Nino dinner-dance

“Giving opportunities, giving hope, giving love, giving knowledge, giving health” said Merrilee Gagnon when asked what the HOGAR means to her. And as many of the several hundred guests of the Hogar del Niño dinner-dance party celebrated on Saturday February 15th gave similar responses, it is clear that “giving” is the key.

Pedal power for the Hogar del Niño

Last Friday and Saturday the 14th and 15th of February the Hogar del Niño – the most complete integrated educational center in the Dominican Republic – celebrated their 17th annual fundraising weekend, an event that was a great success thanks to the overwhelming love and support of the greater Casa de Campo community.

Hugs, happiness and hope at the Hogar del Niño weekend

With “free hugs” for RD$100, their own hashtag (#soypbo) and even a little fancy dress… the 17th annual Hogar del Niño weekend proved to be just as fun, fresh and innovative as we have come to expect from the charity who educates more than 1500 children at their school and daycare centre in La Romana.
