More rain? Yes I’m afraid so…..
Whilst I do not like to be the bearer of bad news, I do really like talking about the weather (even if it is bad) – it’s a British thing, and so when I was casually perusing my favorite websites (weather.com/hurricanecentral and wunderground.com) just now and I noticed some rather ominous satellite imagery of the […]

Are you and your Casa de Campo villa prepared for Hurricane Season?

Hurricane Season 2012 is now set to become “more active” than usual. Click here […]

At this ‘rainy’ time of year in the Dominican Republic and Casa de Campo – when it rains it pours! And one rainstorm recently was soo fierce that a mini ‘flash-flood’ swept through our beautiful Casa de Campo resort. (Ok, ok it wasn’t so much a ‘flash flood’, more a river of water that ran […]
Forget Ophelia – she’s going NORTH!
So far this Hurricane Season, the Dominican Republic has been very lucky – every Tropical Storm and Hurricane which looked to be heading our way have gone North of the island. And now it looks like Tropical Storm Ophelia is predicted to go the same way! Wooohooo!
Oh Ophelia! Another Tropical Storm headed towards the Dominican Republic!
Yesterday, I reported about a “High Potential Disturbance”, which had a 70% chance of becoming a “Tropical Cyclone.” Well now this “area of low pressure”, has indeed become a Tropical Cyclone – a Tropical Storm, named Ophelia.

It’s been a few days….so it’s time for another thrilling weather update! After muddling through the confusing array of weather forecasts, tracking models and satellite images, I have come to the conclusion that there will be some sunny days this week, but by the weekend more rain may well arrive!
