Good day, Casa family! This year has proved to be one that we will remember. It has been quite challenging but we are sure that we will only come back stronger, kinder and rebuild our societies better. Even though we are going through this we must not forget that the Casa de Campo community also enjoyed endless good times and many special moments in Casa– we must remember them and hang on to those memories until we are able to be together again and create new ones!
Below is just a handful of all we have lived together this year, but there are, and will be, many more!
The McDaniel’s Tennis Tournament played from Thursday, March 4th through Sunday 8th was an excellent source of friendly competition in the name of a wonderful cause. Many from the Casa de Campo community came out to support the McDaniel Family Foundation’s initiatives and see the close matches between the ball boys and instructors of La Romana Country Club and La Terrazza Tennis Club. On March 10 the Real Madrid Foundation inaugurated the third headquarters of its Soccer School in Casa de Campo. On February 14 and 15, 2020, Patronato Benéfico Oriental’s dedicated team hosted another fantastic charity weekend filled with fun events innovating the way our community comes together for a good cause. This event has more than two decades of celebration and is held in order to raise funds to contribute to the development of the various educational, social and health programs sponsored by the PBO of thousands of girls, boys and young people of La Romana. Last night, La Romana’s Baseball team the ‘Los Toros del Este’ were crowned the champions of the Dominican Baseball League for the 3rd time after defeating the Tigres del Licey 7-1, with Jeimer Candelario elected as Most Valuable Player of the Final Series. The celebrations reverberated last night all across La Romana, Casa de Campo and beyond. The win was 51 of the season for the Bulls between Regular Series and playoffs, record in Dominican baseball. The Fundación MIR Magical Splendor Gala is a much anticipated fashion event for Casa de Campo community members and international guests. This 30th-anniversary edition, hosted by Raysa and Alfy Fanjul featured internationally recognized fashion designer, Naeem Khan and part of his Resort 2020 and Spring / Summer 2020 collections.
