“One day can change your whole life!” Staying well and healthy can be quite difficult and that is why support is important. As they say, a thousand-mile journey is started with a single step, one day can change everything and help put you on the path of holistic living. June 21st is International Day of Yoga, a day to look inward, contemplate, relax, and breathe.
For a second year in a row Casa de Campo Resort joined in on the celebration with a yoga activity lead by the experts Kira Montagu, Jackie Arvelo and Luisa Poppe at Minitas Beach where each of them explained all about the virtues and benefits that yoga offers.
A sunset meditation class invokes the search and acceptance for personal well-being while breathing techniques during the yoga lessons throughout the afternoon helped harness this inward light. Yoga’s health benefits have been known to humankind for thousands of years. It improves flexibility, balance, and posture, builds muscle strength, increases your blood flow, boosts immunity, helps regulate blood pressure, helps you learn to focus, and helps you sleep better, just to name a few!
Many community members got together at Minitas Beach and followed through the different yoga routines and sequences prepared by the instructors, flowing from one pose to the other. The peace and tranquility that was felt in that afternoon with the ocean breeze and the sunset as a backdrop were like none other and the participants were able to connect with their surroundings and forget any or every stress-related episode they had encountered during the day.
By the end of the event, we were able to see how relaxed and happy everyone was making this a very successful initiative taken by Casa de Campo and the yoga instructors that participated. We hope to see more events like this in the near future!
