It has been over 40 years since the Teeth of the Dog was opened for the first time and it continues to amaze even the most avid golfers. With18 jaw-droppingly-beautiful holes—including seven right along the ocean, every hole is unique and scenic. It comes to no surprise that Pete Dye’s first creation in Casa de Campo has been constantly on the list of the best golf courses in the Caribbean, and in the world, and considered by many golf lovers a must-play golf course. Just a few months ago, the Teeth of the Dog received 2020 with news that it had been ranked as No. 1 of Latin America and the Caribbean, and just last week one of the world’s Top golfers Davis Love III has placed it as his number 1 course to play in!

On July 13th, the Teeth of the Dog reopened after the closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with none other than Miguel Ángel Jiménez “El Mecánico”, multiple champion of the European Tour and PGA TOUR Champions, who “premiered” it with a superlative level of golf. The Spaniard, an honorary member of Casa de Campo, made nine birdies in a round he shared with his wife Susanne Styblo, Robert Birtel (CDC Professional Golf), and Gilles Gagnon (Director Emeritus of Golf at CDC). Find the video of the opening day here.

Golf is a game that lends itself to social distancing and this means Casa golfers can once again reacquaint themselves with the courses, but always remember that it is vital that everyone continues to follow best practice when it comes to dealing with the current pandemic.

We hope you enjoy the first of what we are sure will be many rounds of golf!
