Yoga’s health benefits have been known to humankind for thousands of years. It improves flexibility, balance, and posture, builds muscle strength, increases your blood flow, boosts immunity, helps regulate blood pressure, helps you learn to focus, and helps you sleep better, just to name a few!
The credit to honor this holy practice Yoga with a day goes to out Prime Minister Narendra Modi who suggested June 21 to be celebrated as the International Day of Yoga. PM Narendra Modi said, “the date is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and has special significance in many parts of the world.” After which, recognizing its universal appeal, on December 11th, 2014, the United Nations proclaimed June 21st as the International Day of Yoga. Now, it is celebrated annually on June 21st which people all around the world coming together and share their favorite Yoga exercises.
This year Casa de Campo Resort joins the commemoration of the International Day of Yoga, with a yoga activity that will take place this Thursday, June 21st lead by the experts Kira Montagu, Martina Monteverde, Jackie Arvelo and Luisa Poppe who will explain all about the virtues and benefits that yoga offers. This event is completely FREE and will start at 6 pm at the Polo field – All you need to bring is a yoga mat, comfortable clothes and your desire to connect with people and nature by practicing yoga.
