Altos de Chavón’s numerous activities at Fall Fest kept last weekend on a constant high note. Coming off of Dueños 2016 Weekend events and to die for Halloween bashes at Simply Haunted Mansion and Genesis Nightclub, Sunday seemed like it would be a day for staying in. But true to Dominican style, we kept the celebrations going and welcomed Autumn in one of the most brilliant ways possible.
It was amazing for us to be in the heart of Casa de Campo sharing in the gorgeous village of Altos de Chavón among local establishments, invited vendors, artisans, and children and families. All who came out got to rediscover Chavón, a phrase popularized by the day and array of activities we really enjoyed organizing for the community.
From arts & crafts workshops, an outdoor bazaar, menu specials and signature mimosas, discounts on all merchandise and live music, Casa de Campo Living loved being able to bring the businesses of Chavón together to share in the goal of spreading the word how fantastic Chavón is and to continue making it a cultural and entertainment place of reference.

We saw first hand the enthusiasm emanating from visitors and especially children as they carved pumpkins, got their faces painted, ate popcorn and cotton candy, and jumped in the bouncy houses. You need only to look at the faces of the Fundación MIR students to see how overjoyed they were to celebrate in this festival and how significant the day was to them.

Fall Fest shone with streaming ribbons from Fresh Fresh Cafe’s entrance and the multicolored bouncy castles from Multiplaza La Romana; Costa Farms colorful and gorgeous plant display was a perfect backdrop for capturing photos and selecting Antumn and holiday arrangements, and locally made crafts like handmade leather bracelets and bags, silver jewelry by LeBam Joyas and Clarlin Rivera, and woodworking designs by Seek & Find (from which Carla bought her Christmas tree this year!) brought the festival to life. La Piazzetta’s special menu beckoned guests indoors to try an awesome selection of food and desserts, and they followed it up with a passionate jazz player for the evening:
Live music emerged from Fresh Fresh Café as well in an awesome jam session after dark by the band from Nina’s in Santo Domingo. Guests could be seen packed into the café enjoying the songs, sipping on beer from Fresh Fresh’s new bar concept La Eskina, and even sitting for a tarot reading!
We loved Chavón Fall Fest so much we reached out to the participating community to hear what they had to say:
Casa de Campo Resort’s and Costasur’s enthusiasm for Fall Fest meant a lot and showed that they are a true partner for the businesses and us to make events like this happen. We thank them for their ongoing support!“The Altos de Chavón Fest reaffirmed what we have always believed: Chavón is a magical place, a wonderful creative energy, an unparalleled view, with very attractive offers like no other in the Dominican Republic …. it just needed people and that festive spirit that the Festival brings.” Jenny Polanco CEO Jenny Polanco SRL “Chavón is a magical place and to see it full of life is simply wonderful; ‘Fall Fest’ was a complete success, THANK YOU!!!” Xioma Menendez Dajer President at Patronato Benéfico Oriental Owner at Fresh Fresh Café “I am big fan of the #rediscoverchavon initiative and the recent Fall Fest was a great event to launch this campaign. It was great to see the community all come together in this truly magical space, enjoying the food available at the different restaurants, listening to the live music and just coming together in a very relaxed and fun environment. The F&B team really enjoyed the process of designing brunch for Piazzetta! It’s such an iconic space in Altos de Chavón and Casa de Campo; it was very rewarding to do something different and see how well received the menu was. We can’t wait to do it again and hopefully have even more people come try out the menu. On a personal level, one of my favorite aspects was also getting local artists and artisans to come and set-up stands in Chavón and being able to discover their work.” Charles Keusters Director of Food & Beverages Casa de Campo Resort & Villas “The Altos de Chavón fall fest was a complete success!! It was so beautiful to see the neighborhood come together as one y se that ‘when you wish it it can come true’. Loved watching all the families and friends enjoy a beautiful Sunday on the rocks, rediscovering Chavón!! I’m totally looking forward to the next one…” Cecil DeHaas Owner at La Cantina “The Chavón Fall Fest was a truly magical day. I loved seeing the sense of community and how Chavón came to life with all the different activities where adults and kids participated. All I can say is, When is the next one?!” Carmen Lorente Chavón School of Design
