Dominicana Moda hosts Altos de Chavón School of Design Senior Thesis Show 2012

Normally, Dominicana Moda, the Dominican Republic’s Fashion Week, shows only the works of individual designers. But for an unprecedented second year, The Altos de Chavón School of Design was invited to participate in this prestigious event. Hurricane Sandy was present, as well.

Celebrating the opening of new art exhibit “100 tiles cerámicas” in Altos de Chavón

On Thursday the 13th of September 2012, the Altos de Chavón art gallery celebrated the opening of new art exhibit “100 tiles cerámicas”, a wonderful collection of hand painted ceramic tiles featuring brightly colored flowery and feminine designs, as well as comical representations of famous faces such as Michael Jackson and even Charlie Chaplin.

“13 Altos de Chavón School of Design Transfer Students Graduate from Parsons” – article by Stephen Kaplan

Friday, May 18th 2012, was a stunningly beautiful spring day, and at 2:30pm Parsons The New School for Design, along with all the other divisions of The New School, celebrated its annual commencement – with the participation of 13 former students of the Altos de Chavón School of Design.
