In case you missed the exquisite dining experience that took place earlier this month featuring Chef Jacob Jasinski visiting El Mediterraneo Restaurant at Eden Roc we’re bringing you a special recap. The renowned chef of Seasons at Ocean House in Rhode Island participated in a chef-exchange program that wowed guests with presentation and taste.

The ambiance at El Mediterraneo  is not one to be easily compared with, boasting an elegant dining room that sits with floor to ceiling windows that look out onto its stone terrace. The resort itself belongs to the Relais & Châteaux consortium that brings together a collection of gourmet restaurants, luxury hotels, resorts and villas, and is distinguished by having the best chefs in the world.

Jacob Jasinski added to the grandeur of the evening, preparing a menu alongside Eden Roc’s Executive Chef Gianluca Re Franschini with a selection of canapes with oysters, goat cheese gnocchi, and veal tartar, amuse bouche, an appetizer of citrus cured lobster, and a main course of escabeche turbot, beef with mushroom potato puree, and a dessert of goat cheese with hazelnut, berries and honey. The two chefs hunted for fresh ingredients during a trip to the market and picked up some surprises for guests of the evening.

Beef with Mushroom Potato Puree El Mediterraneo

Jacob Jasinski and Gianluca Re Franschini mingled with guests throughout the evening, where they received many compliments and praise. Following the dinner, attendees sipped on Brugal Leyenda paired with a selection of cigars. The chef exchange program will have Chef Gianluca Re Fraschini visiting Ocean House in May. We’re sure it’s going to be a treat.

Mediterraneo is open daily for breakfast, from 7:30am to 11am, and for dinner, Mondays to Saturdays, from 7pm to 10pm.
