Casa de Campo villa owners and residents love a good dinner party. Delicious food, fancy cocktails and an indulgent desert is typically the way it’s done. And that’s not so healthy…
How about changing the rules at your next dinner party and making it healthy while keeping it delicious? Here are some tips to help you achieve a perfectly healthy dinner party, without spoiling any of the fun!

1. Stiffen the drinks!
Forget the cocktails and bubbly since they’re usually loaded with sugar and fruit juices. Instead try a stiffer drink by making vodka cocktails with club soda, lemon slices, and mint or keep it simple with antioxidant-rich red wine.

2. Lighten the appetizers.
Appetizers or finger food usually served before sitting down to dinner are typically fried – pastellitos, arepitas, tequeños etc.. So skip the “frituras” and opt for veggies. It doesn’t have to be boring, hummus, guacamole, or any other dip and served with some veggie sticks and maybe some casabe.

3. Even more veggies
Stick with even more veggies for the rest of the meal by adding them to your main dish and side dishes. You don’t have to make everything vegetarian but trykeeping things light. Try opting for a grilled fish and a few different sidedishes such as a beet salad, quinoa and asparagus salad or my personal favoritea steamed broccoli and avocado salad.

4. Don’t skip desert!
A dinner party just wouldn’t feel complete without it. Try roasted stone fruits or a sorbet made of frozen fruits. Even some fresh berries topped with a touch of homemade whipped cream and a drizzle of dark chocolate is the perfect indulgence.
