Flavors of the World’s daring Dinner & Brunch with Chivas 18

While we loved the Saturday BBQ at Minitas Beach, Pubbelly Sushi at the Marina Casa de Campo became the gastronomic hotspot for a weekend, showcasing a collaboration between Miami’s trendiest chefs during Flavors of the World: Miami edition!  The Friday night 7-course meal with dishes by Top Chef Jeremy Ford, Bradley Kilgore and Jose Mendín was memorable to say the least and the Sunday brunch featured “limited edition” items which were exclusively included in the Pubbelly Sushi menu for a day. We loved it all and here’s our take on all of it.

At the end of the evening we all agreed: this meal wasn’t for “rookies”! In addition to finding the dinner onFriday to be an explosion of flavors and textures, we also raved about the spicy kick and heat in most dishes. In true celebrity chef style, the meal was entirely memorable, packing unexpected combinations and flavors in every bite. Check out our favorite dishes from the evening by each chef HERE.

The ambiance was equally awesome and our friends from Chivas 18 made sure that the mood was set as much by the cocktails as it was by the meal! Arriving fashionably late, I was happy to find my friends Lauren Llenas and Daniel Sanchez waiting for me by the signature Pubbelly bar which had been transformed to become the Chivas 18 and Beefeater bar for a night. The cocktail menu was impeccable and had something for every taste. Unlike the more formal and traditional dinners, the casual and family style dishes paired perfectly with Chivas 18 cocktails instead of wine. Some of us (cough cough …) may have even taken up the challenge of pairing each dish with a different cocktail!

The crowd seemed to have a blast and most stayed at Pubbelly after the dinner. Plaza Portofino was alive and bopping for much of the night thereafter. Browse through the crowd pictures taken by Mairobi Herrera below:

Sunday Brunch is by far my favorite meal of the week. This past Sunday, the Pubbelly Sushi Brunch was comprised of a short selection of sweet and savory dishes from Miami’s Pubbelly Sushi that really hit the spot! I tried the most delicious French Toast Sticks I have ever had, and some Popcorn Pancakes that were too good to even begin to describe. Additionally the Korean Pulled Pork Chilaquiles, Soft Shell Crab Benedict and Brunch Burger had everyone in our table with no room for seconds but savoring every bite!

The warm but breezy afternoon at the Marina Casa de Campo became the perfect spot to spend Sunday and the place to see and be seen.
