Turmeric

Food should be delicious and nutritious. Incorporate these 5 nutritional powerhouses to reap some amazing health benefits as well as a punch of flavor!

Raw apple cider vinegar

This super vinegar is not only delicious for making salad dressings it can also keep you healthy. Known for its alkalizing powers it can also improve digestion, help with fat metabolism and contains minerals and potassium. Some people love drinking it mixed with water everyday but I’d keep it to once or twice a week since it can be harsh on the liver and kidneys when used in excess.

Quinoa

A rich source of protein that is completely plant based. Quinoa happens to be rich in magnesium, phosphorus, manganese, protein and fiber to keep you feeling full. It makes a great addition to cold salads and is delicious drizzled with some citrus dressing and lots of fresh herbs!

Fresh herbs

Different herbs have been used throughout history for their medicinal properties. While it may be easier to reach for the dried variety, fresh herbs such as rosemary, thyme and basil have wonderful cleansing properties. They pack a powerful punch flavor-wise as well and can help spice up any recipe or even your drinking water!

Turmeric

When sold in capsules it is highly concentrated and is a great substitute for traditional anti-inflammatories. Even better you can add it to your daily diet to reap some of the benefits. Its anti-inflammatory functions aren’t all its good for, it’s also rich in antioxidants and has immune boosting properties. Try sprinkling some on your salads or buy turmeric root and add about a 2-inch piece to fresh made juice.

Pink Himalayan Sea Salt

A staple in my house, this pure sea salt comes straight from the earth unlike most traditional table salts, which have been highly processed. It is a great source of essential minerals including magnesium and potassium.
