White vinegar is a great product which you can use for so many different things – anything from cooking to cleaning.
I love it because there’s nothing toxic about it and, since it’s a food, you never have to worry about it causing harm to children or pets.
Here are some of my favorite uses for it:
Cleaning Stainless Steel
Stainless steel appliances are awfully pretty, but they tend to get fingerprints all over them if you’re not careful. My favorite way to clean them is with a little white vinegar. Just pour some into a spray can and spray onto a washcloth. Then all you need is a little elbow grease to polish the stains. I find it works best when the washcloth isn’t too saturated, so start with a fresh washcloth if you start having a hard time getting prints off.
Homemade All-Purpose Cleaner
You can use pure white vinegar in a spray bottle or dilute it with some water and add some essential oils. (My favorites are tea tree, rosemary and sweet orange). This spray can be used to clean everything from the inside of your fridge to your toilet bowls!
Marinate your onions
There’s something about marinating your onions in white vinegar before cooking them that makes them spectacular. Simply cut your onions into rings, cover them with a little white vinegar and a touch of sea salt, and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes before sautéing them with a little butter or olive oil. The extra flavor in the onions will be excellent over grilled chicken, steak or yucca!
