It’s official, hurricane season is here and despite June historically being the ‘warm-up’ month, when the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean normally experiences a minimal number of storms and bad weather, here in La Romana and Casa de Campo this so called ‘warm-up’ has been rather fierce to say the least!

On Saturday the 14th of May, the Bazaar Primavera, a lively fair and market took place in Altos de Chavón’s cobbled streets, an event with the participation of more than 40 vendors as well as the biggest store of them all – Plaza Lama, the SUPERTIENDA!

The children of the Orfanato Niños de Cristo, an orphanage in La Romana town cordially invite you to the ‘Circus of Dreams’, an event to raise money to help them fulfill their dream of completing the construction of their new school!

The La Romana Carnaval 2011!
On Sunday the 27th of March, the town of La Romana came to life as more than 40 different carnaval comparsas paraded through the streets for the annual La Romana Carnaval, which was sponsored by Plaza Lama.

This Sunday the 27th of March, the streets of La Romana will come alive with music, dancing and the banging of drums as the La Romana Carnaval ‘Gran Desfile’ marches it’s way through the streets of La Romana!

The El Coral Highway, which when complete will join Santo Domingo, La Romana and Punta Cana, dramatically reducing travel time and distance between the Dominican Republic’s top tourist destinations is progressing very well and is ni some areas starting to look very impressive!
