On Saturday the 14th of May, the Bazaar Primavera, a lively fair and market took place in Altos de Chavón’s cobbled streets, an event with the participation of more than 40 vendors as well as the biggest store of them all – Plaza Lama, the SUPERTIENDA!
Plaza Lama, a nationwide chain of supermarket’s opened a store in La Romana just over 6 months ago and since then has become popular amongst La Romana and Casa de Campo shoppers for it’s extensive range of electronic and home-ware items (air conditioning, cookers, fridges) as well as it’s selection of food and special offers! Another great advantage of Plaza Lama is that it feels less crowded, its wide aisles and efficient staff keep the shop feeling less full – making your shopping experience less stressful and much more pleasant.
Plaza Lama choose to take part in the Bazaar Primavera as themselves and created a mini-supermarket inside a large tent with a selection of their best selling items on display, fridge-freezers, ovens, food, drinks, exercise equipment and even a sofa – thus showing the incredible range of goods offered within Plaza Lama’s big blue doors!
Plaza Lama is conveniently located in La Romana on the Calle (road) Francisco Richiez, near to the police station – if you haven’t been there yet, give it a try, you’ll be pleased to find a good range of products in a clean and well organized store.
