Nothing says fall quite like biting into a fresh, crisp apple. They are definitely one of my favorite fruits! You may notice that apples taste pretty amazing right now and that’s because this is when they’re actually in season!
There are so many delicious ways to enjoy Mother Nature’s treat. Try chopping up some apples and cooking it with some rolled oats topped with walnuts for a nourishing breakfast. Or slice it up into thin circle slices, spread some almond butter on them and treat yourself to a yummy apple sandwich.
They are probably the easiest fruit to throw into a purse incase you get hungry when you’re out and about. You can even have some fun with it and add some shredded apple to a grown up grilled cheese sandwich made with sourdough bread and gouda- delicious!!
If you’re looking for something a little try mixing it with another fall favorite and make yourself a delicious apple radish salad! Here’s how to make it.
Ingredients
1 red apple
5 radishes or 2 large watermelon radishes
1 tbsp. of olive oil
1/2 tbsp. of apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup of fresh basil
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Cut the apple into small, thin strips
Cut the radishes into very thin rounds
Chop the basil as finely as you can
Combine all the ingredients and toss with olive oil and apple cider vinegar
Season with salt and pepper to taste
It’s fabulous by itself but it’s also really wonderful mixed with some cold quinoa to make a delicious grain salad that’s a little heartier.
