I’ve been driving into La Romana quite a bit these past few days, and often cruise by Chinois to find the newly reopened restaurant busy with people! We are so glad to see you trying out the new location!  That being said, I did find another gem in La Romana recently, and while we published an article mid December telling you that Luz Mar Gastropub had been remodeled and is now better than ever, we forgot to mention the restaurant is now called Dido’s Food and Wine!!!! Featured Image - Didos Food and Wine 2 So given the slight confusion, it took me a while to find Dido’s and make my way over there. But, boy, was I glad I did! I visited Dido’s Food and Wine with a couple of friends and was pleasantly surprised at how awesome it was. I spotted the place from a distance because of the shiny blue vintage car parked in front of the restaurant. Getting there is very easy. Get on Eugenio A. Miranda street as if going to the Parque Juan Pablo Duarte in the middle of town. You will see the blue vintage car in front of the restaurant to the right of the street before Trigo de Oro and next to VIP Car Wash (I actually left my car to get cleaned while I had lunch and loved it! – more on that coming soon) Restaurant - Didos Food and Wine 2 Getting into the restaurant I could immediately tell Dido, the owner, knows what he is doing. This is a casual yet elegant restaurant in a perfect location and he has not skipped out on the details! The decoration and remodelling is fantastic, the outdoor seating area is breezy and shielded from the ongoing cars, the indoor dining room is just beautiful and the huge bar is the centrepiece of it all. Outside - Didos Food and Wine While the indoor dining room was air conditioned and great for cooling during these hot days, we sat outside. The super attentive waiters helped us and showed us the menu (which has so many options!). While seafood is the restaurant’s specialty, it has many options for everyone. We tried a cheese plate, sushi, ceviche, and a mushroom risotto. With such a huge variety of menu options, we were not sure if everything was going to be up to par… but were worried for nothing because the food was very well presented and delicious! Every last bite. Sushi The prices are very affordable and there is plenty of seating for large groups. As we were sitting there, we saw many Casa de Campo residents stopping by to grab a bite so we can tell the place is quickly becoming a favorite in town. If you are looking for a restaurant that can accommodate menu options for different tastes, are wanting to try something new, and like attention to detail and good pricing as much as I do, you should definitely check Dido’s out! As we were heading out, we met Dido himself who is so nice and makes sure that every guest leaves happy. We loved Dido’s Food and Wine and love that the dining options in La Romana, just a stone’s throw away from Casa are getting better than ever — hope you do too!
