Among all the very many dinners, parties and events Casa de Campo villa owners enjoy throughout the year, Dueños is one of the favorites. And Dueños 2014 was certainly no disappointment.
Dueños 2014, hosted by Costasur and Casa de Campo for Casa de Campo villa owners took place this past weekend on Friday and Saturday the 21st and 22nd of November.
The event began on Friday afternoon at the Flamboyant Conference Center with the “Entrega de los regalos” (giving out of Dueños souvenirs), during which SILGON (creators of CasaLife, casadecampoliving.com, TODO Casa de Campo, TODO La Romana – Bayahibe and INMORTALES) celebrated the start of the occasion with a brindis sponsored by Chivas 18.
Bright and early on Saturday morning, the fun-filled day of activities began with the sunrise yoga on Minitas beach, followed by all the sporting events Casa de Campo has to offer; tennis, golf, shooting and the Casathon, as well as polo which unfortunately had to be cancelled due to the rain…
But the rain didn’t ruin our party!
Oh no! Rather than cancel the party, the “dinner beach party” set up at Minitas Beach was moved (in just a few hours) to the La Romana Country Club, where the party went on!
Newly announced president of the Casa de Campo resort, Rafael Torres, was at the door to meet, greet and pose for a photo with all the villa owners. And later joined Alfonso Paniagua on the mic to say a few words. “For me it is an honor and a pleasure to be present on such a special night,” said Rafael Torres.
And then it was time for dinner and dancing! Lobster and live music with Victor Mitrov – what could be better than that!?
During the entire Dueños 2014 celebration we took more than 1,000 photos, so please be patient while we organize them all for you to see. In the meantime here we bring you an overview of this epic event.
CONGRATULATIONS and THANK YOU to Costasur and Casa de Campo!
As has become the tradition, at the “Entrega de los Regalos“, Casa de Campo’s Dueños (villa owners) picked up their “goody bags” and enjoyed a feria of different events and activities set up by each Casa de Campo department – showcasing what it is they have to offer not only tourists, but also villa owners!
Also in attendance at the “Entrega de los Regalos” was Rebecca Hughes (me!) and Philip Silvestri, as well as a few members of our team, representing SILGON – meeting and greeting all our friends and fans (!) and enjoying a brindis sponsored by Chivas 18.
A little after sunrise and in the early morning glow at Minitas Beach, a surprisingly large group of Casa de Campo villa owners welcomed the morning with a invigorating yoga class led by local yoga teacher and holistic life coach Kyra Montague, who is also now running the Casa de Campo Spa with Ki-Ra Holistic Living.
Just a little later than the yoga, Casa de Campo’s running community were raring to go. Setting off from Minitas Beach, the competitive group completed a 5km circuit in as little as 20 minutes! Very impressive – we were exhausted just watching!
With the participation of Dueños big and small, the tennis tournament played at the La Terraza tennis club was divided into 4 categories and played in a round robin format.
Each competitor of the shooting tournament got 25 shots to prove themselves as Casa de Campo’s best marksman (and woman). For many, the Dueños 2013 clay shooting tournament was their first attempt at this deceptively challenging (both physically and mentally) sport – perhaps some discovering a passion and talent that we’ll see them shooting more regularly in the future?
Throughout the day, groups of Casa de Campo villa owners enjoyed horseback riding through the resort. A non-competitive and fun way to pass a few hours with the family.
With nearly 200 Casa de Campo villa owners taking part on both the Links and the Teeth of the Dog golf courses, the Dueños 2013 golf tournament was without a doubt the most popular activity of the Dueños weekend (after the beach party of course).
More than 1,000 Casa de Campo villa owners and their families enjoyed a magnificent night at the La Romana Country Club. With tables clustered in and around the main club house, as well as on the garden terrace outside, it was not the beach, but it was beautiful none the less!
Speeches were presented by vice-president and administrator of Costasur Casa de Campo, Alfonso Paniagua and Rafael Torres, president of the Casa de Campo resort, followed by the prize-giving ceremony and dancing with Victor Mitrov and DJ Luz…
