The first annual “Casa de Campo Blue Marlin Classic” will then end with the prize-giving ceremony at the Casa de Campo Yacht Club in the Marina Casa de Campo, with the top 3 teams, the top 3 fishermen getting prizes, as well as a special recognition for the best judge, as well as for the best male and female fishermen.

The Director of the Marina Casa de Campo, José Gonzalvo, welcomed the gathered press and guests and at the same time expressed the enthusiasm of his staff for the celebration of this huge event, which has already attracted the attention of numerous international fishermen.

“This is the first international tournament that will be celebrated at the Marina Casa de Campo, and will  be a  100% ‘release’ tournament- meaning all fish caught will be returned to the water. It is an honor to celebrate this tournament in our Marina Casa de Campo”, said José Gonzalvo, Director of the Marina Casa de Campo

Erick Álvarez, director of Casa de Campo Blue Marlin Classic also made a speech at the press conference to explain some of the most important rules of the upcoming contest.

Casa de Campo Blue Marlin Classic: Tournament Rules

  • Teams may be composed of a maximum of four (4) people.

  • Each team may have a minimum of two (2) fishermen.

  • There will be one team per boat accompanied by a different  certified judge each fishing day.

“Our tournament is characterized by several elements, one of them is that there will be a judge on each boat, just to certify that the catch is certainly a Blue Marlin and also to prevent any violation of the established rules,” explained Mr. Álvarez.

Throughout the tournament, the competing boats will leave the docks of the Marina Casa de Campo at 7am each day and will return at early evening, following which all participants will enjoy a variety of different activities thanks to the tournament sponsors.
