Save the date, for the 4th “Carnaval Yumero” which will take place next month, starting with a “warm-up” celebration on Sunday February 16th, follow by the official carnival day on Sunday February 23rd.

The “Carnaval Yumero” is celebrated in San Rafael de Yuma, a small town on the eastern side of the Parque Nacional del Este (National Park of the East), on the road leading from the Autopista del Coral to Boca de Yuma – an oceanside town and a popular place to eat fried fish.

This is your chance to enjoy a traditional, rural Dominican carnival, with colorful carnival characters and costumes actually made in Rafael de Yuma. It will be an interesting day out, which you could end eating fried fish in Boca de Yuma (click here to read more about the delicious traditional Dominican fried fish).

This event is being organized by the “Dra. Evangelina Rodríguez Cultural and Sports Club” and is sponsored by the San Rafael del Yuma City Hall. In addition to the carnival, there will also be food and drink areas, a playground for children, music and live entertainment.

Also remember that on Saturday February 22nd, the Marina Casa de Campo will celebrate the 3rd annual Carnival de la Marina in honor of Juan Francisco Vasquez (Juampa).

We look forward to see you there, sharing good times, enjoying with the music and the colorful Carnival!
