A healthier life requires more than just a change in your diet, so here are 10 simple steps that will help you stay happy and healthy!
1. Drink enough water
Get rid of juice and unnecessary drinks and focus on water.
2. Cook everyday
Cook something, anything! No matter how small, practicing cooking every day will get you into the swing of it and it’s one of the healthiest things you can do for yourself.
3. Ditch processed carbs and go for whole grains instead
Some great ones to try are millet, quinoa, wild rice and buckwheat.
4. Eat more dark leafy green vegetables
Try to get leafy greens into your diet in some way, shape or form at least once a day.
5. Try sweet veggies
Regularly incorporating sweet vegetables into your diet can help you reduce sugar cravings in the long run.
6. Have healthy relationships
Surround yourself with people you love that make you feel great and laugh. Being around people that don’t lift you up is draining and not worth your time.
7. Move your body
Try to move every single day. Whether it’s a walk, some time at the gym or your favorite class, no matter what you do try to move your body every single day.
8. Find a spiritual practice
Do something that makes you feel wonderful inside. Meditating, yoga, journaling are all great ways to get in touch with a spiritual practice which can bring a sense of grounding.
9. Be grateful
Gratitude is an important part of health. Studies have shown that people who write in a gratitude journal every night even enjoy better sleep. Take some time to count your blessings.
10. Shut off your electronics
Make it a point to spend some time away from your electronics every day, especially for an hour or two before bed.
