The season of gratitude is heating up at Casa de Campo. On Nov. 20, 2025, at 7 p.m., the Friendsgiving: Best Turkey Competition returns for its eighth edition at La Romana Country Club. What started as a friendly dinner among neighbors has grown into one of the resort’s most joyful traditions — celebrating good food, great company and an even greater cause.

Where Friendship Meets Flavor

Each year, the event rallies the Casa de Campo community around two favorite pastimes: cooking and giving back. Proceeds benefit the Hogar del Niño, which provides early education opportunities for children in La Romana. The evening’s highlight? The Best Turkey Competition, where participants turn Thanksgiving classics into culinary showpieces worthy of applause and a little friendly rivalry.

This Year’s Lineup

The 2025 edition features an impressive group of chefs and home cooks, including Susana Joa, Cecil de Haas, Hasis Curet, Juan Pablo Méndez, Leo Proaño, Amelia Pereyra, Lia Matos, Teresa Hernández and Paul Sheldrake, among others. Each will bring their own flavor and flair to the table in hopes of earning the title of Best Turkey of the Year.

Returning to the judge’s table is Gabriella Reginato, a familiar face known for her warmth and discerning palate. Her return promises lively feedback, plenty of laughs, and perhaps a few surprises along the way.

A Feast for a Cause

While the competition spices up the evening, the true spirit of Friendsgiving lies in its purpose — coming together as a community to share gratitude and give back. Guests can expect a night filled with laughter, flavorful dishes and that unmistakable Casa de Campo charm that keeps everyone coming back year after year.

Seats tend to fill up fast for this feast, so guests are encouraged to secure their spots early. Whether you’re there to taste, cheer or simply enjoy the atmosphere, one thing’s certain: no one leaves hungry.

As the turkeys take center stage, one question remains: who will rule the roost in 2025?
