Guess who’s also coming to the Amphitheater in Altos de Chavón this year? Carlos Vives! The very popular Colombian artist will present his most recent tour on September 17th. This information was provided by Gamal Haché, and announced at the Casa de Campo Resort & Villa’s cocktail party for villa owners held last Thursday at Plaza Chavón.
Singer, songwriter, actor, businessman and USAID ambassador, Carlos Vives is one of the most emblematic Colombian artists and one of the most important figures of Latin music. He has sold over 30 million records worldwide, and is considered a pioneer of Colombian pop music. As the first Colombian artist to win a Grammy Award, he also holds the record on earning the most nominations to the Latin Grammy Awards. To date, he has won two Grammys and nine Latin Grammys.
After being absent for a few years, he returned with two incredible albums, Corazón Profundo and Más + Corazón Profundo; and with his comeback his singles, “Volví a nacer,” “Como Le Gusta A Tu Cuerpo” y “Bailar Contigo” hit #1 in the Billboard Latin Chart in USA! He has collaborated with very popular artists such as Daddy Yankee, Wisin, Marc Anthony, and most recently with Shakira releasing their new song, “La Bicicleta” just three days ago!!
