A fabulous art exhibit by Angela Occhipinti

On Thursday evening the 19th of December, Casa de Campo celebrated the opening of an outstanding new art exhibit at the Altos de Chavón Gallery by Italian artist Angela Occhipinti. “El Viaje, recorridos de la memoria” had a total of 30 pieces that everyone excitedly admired, so much so that before the night was over a great number of the pieces had already been purchased by the gathered Casa de Campo villa owners and art aficionados. The artwork of Angela Occhipinti from Perugia, Italy, is truly unique and fascinating. She uses mixed techniques on paper (etching, aquatint, lithography, screen printing, collage and painting) as well as on canvas, and portrays almost mathematical imagery, with her favorite theme being kites, used to symbolise “the journey and the search for the soul and the life of man on earth.” “For me, paper becomes the perfect place to tell the life and emotions of man on earth.” Angela told Casa de Campo Living in an interview about her works. Throughout the evening guests enjoyed a champagne toast and were serenaded with a beautiful live jazz group. In addition, there was also the opportunity to purchase a calendar also created by Angela in aid of the Hogar del Niño education and daycare center in La Romana. Volunteering at the Hogar del Niño school as an art teacher, Angela used the work on the students to produce a fabulous calendar. If you didn’t get chance to purchase a calendar yet, it is still for sale just outside The Gallery and is just US$10. The art exhibition was followed by another successful event at new The Club Lounge in Altos de Chavón. The VIP gathering hosted by CasaLife magazine was a great success and sponsored by Chivas Regal 18, Belvedere vodka and Arturo Fuente cigars. Coverage and lots of photos coming soon! About the artist – Angela Occhipinti  Italian artist Angela Occhipinti studied Arts in the Illustration Academy of Florence were she obtained a degree in Graphic and Engraving Art with Pietro Parigi and Giuseppe Viviani. She has been successful in the production and publication of books. She has presented more than 92 personal pieces in private and public galleries in museums in Italy and around the world. During her carrier she has won numerous awards and received a “Caballero” title by the “Gran Oficial and Conmedador de La República”.
