We are already 3 months into the year but there are so many events coming up we want to make sure you’re fully prepped with what to expect in Casa and how to plan for all the AWESOME activities.

Some people might think Casa de Campo is a good spot to stay only during the ‘high season,’ but let me fill you in on something… that’s just not true! Throughout the year, our resort carries what we can call a ‘silent high season’ with plenty of events garnering attention that will have you penciling in dates for Casa de Campo way more often.

Here’s a summary of some of the MOST POPULAR events published on our website, the most up-to-date calendar of events there is in Casa!


Thursday, 24th: La Romana Bayahibe Fishing Tournament

This is a major event in the La Romana – Bayahibe area, with more than 160 fishermen expected to take part, along with many other visitors who gather during that weekend in Bayahibe.

Saturday, 26th: Marc Anthony at Altos de Chavón

After his surprise appearance at the last Juan Luis Guerra concert here, the Latin idol comes to perform at the the legendary Altos de Chavón Amphitheater for the traditional Easter concert on Saturday, March 26th.

Wednesday, 30th: Casa de Campo International Blue Marlin Classic 2016

“Casa de Campo International Blue Marlin Classic 2016” will take place in La Marina Casa de Campo from March 30th to April 3rd and is expecting about 20 fishing boats from the U.S. and Puerto Rico to participate in the contest.

Thursday, 31st: Sugar Golf Tournament

The 30th annual Sugar Golf Tournament will be celebrated throughout Casa de Campo, with celebratory dinners and cocktail parties every night complimenting the 4-days of golf played across all of Casa de Campo’s golf courses; the Teeth of the Dog, the Links, the Dye Fore and the La Romana Country Club.

Thursday, 31st: MIR Bazaar by Fundación MIR

The “MIR Bazaar” is held every year in aid of the Fundación MIR non-profit organization and is a wonderful opportunity for Casa de Campo ladies to do a little shopping whilst also supporting a great cause!

The MIR Bazaar will be open from Thursdat to Sunday, but on Sunday afternoon, at 1:30pm, there will be a fashion show with designs by Sissy Bermudez and Julissa Peralta.

Wednesday, 13th: Golf Tournament: Spring Shootout

The ‘Spring Shootout’, designated as one of the most popular springtime events in the Caribbean, will be played on Casa de Campo’s golf courses Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore and the Links.

Monday, 18th: Annual Casa de Campo Sugar Shooting Tournament

This by-invitation-only event will take place at Casa de Campo’s world-class shooting facilities; the 245 acre Shooting Centre in Casa de Campo as well as at Rancho Peligro, located about 1 hour drive into the Dominican wilderness from Casa de Campo (or mere minutes if you arrive by helicopter) is a beautiful wildlife reserve and where “Driven Birds European Style” shooting takes place.

Monday, 9th: DR Open Amateur Championship

Casa de Campo and the Dominican Golf Federation (FEDOGOLF) invite you to participate in the DR Open Amateur Championship 2016. Surely an opportunity any golfer would not want to miss!

The tournament will be played in a “Stableford” format. The mens division has an age limit of 49 years-old and is divided into four categories; A, B, C, D. The age range for the senior division is from 50 to 59 years-old, and is broken down into three categories; A, B, C. The super senior division is for players age 60 and over. There are also two divisions for female players: women 49 years-old and under (women’s division) and women of 50 years-old and over (ladies division).

Join the Altos de Chavón School of Art and Design students on the ceremony that crowns them as art professionals.

Friday, 3rd: 4th Bayahibe Recycle Contest

This interesting and educational competition consist in create original and creative works using recyclables. The participants will be divided into groups of 5 and the top 3 groups will be awarded; taking into account the usefulness, creativity and originally in the works.

Thursday, 9th: Abraham Lincoln School – Graduation 2016

Proud parents, teachers, family and friends of the Abraham Lincoln School “Class of 2016” will enjoy a wonderful graduation ceremony with the distribution of high school diplomas, speeches and singing.

This event marks the end of the school year and bids a found farewell to the graduating class!

A golf tournament being organized by the La Romana – Bayahibe Tourism Cluster. The tournament Includes: welcome kit, shared car,  green fee, breakfast, awards lunch and raffles.

Monday, 4th: American Sports Academy Camp in Casa de Campo

The American Sports Academy is brigning their specialty camp to Casa de Campo between the dates of July 4th – 30th. It offers a totally elective program for children ages 7-17 who wish to improve their skill levels in sports and athletics. The campers will be receiving the best in instruction from their top of the line professional staff.

Bayahibe 10K marathon is an initiative of the Association of Hotels and La Romana – Bayahibe Tourism Cluster, advised by the recognized national firm Santo Domingo Corre, with the aim of promoting the sport in an idyllic environment like Bayahibe.

The aim of the retreat is to open the hearts of the people, embrace religion and impart and share biblical knowledge.

Sunday, 9th: “Romana in Colors” Painting and Cultural Workshop

Saturday, 10th: 5th Lionfish Fishing Tournament

The “Fundación Dominicana de Estudios Marinos” (Dominican Foundation for Marine Research), otherwise known as Fundemar, in conjunction with the La Romana – Bayahibe Tourism Cluster and the La Romana – Bayahibe Hotels Association, is holding the 5th Lionfish Tournament, with the aim of organizing a massive Lionfish capture, as well as promoting its consumption and awareness of the danger it represents to our reefs.
