In two months we will be well into spring, a season where the entire resort feels a bit more quiet after the close of the ‘high season’ … but that doesn’t mean we won’t have exciting competitions taking place. Certainly not! April 13th to 17th comes the 12th Annual Casa de Campo Spring Shootout at its very best.

The ‘Spring Shootout’, designated as one of the most popular springtime events in the Caribbean, will be played on Casa de Campo’s golf courses Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore and the Links.

This event is a 54-hole stroke play championship with five flights for the men, three flights for the ladies with gross and net divisions within the flights. A “flight” is a term for a division of golfers within a golf tournament. Each “flight,” or division, consists of golfers of roughly similar skills, skill level being determined by their handicap. Players will only play in flights they qualify for during this Shootout, and starting points will be from the white tees for the men and red tees for the ladies on the Teeth of the Dog using the index from their home clubs.

The Shootout, as the most important part of the contest, will be played on Casa de Campo’s infamous Teeth of the Dog. A number of players will compete and be eliminated on each hole until there is just two men and two ladies. These four players will play hole #9 on the Teeth of the Dog until we award the Overall Man and Lady Champion.

Prizes will also be awarded in net and gross divisions, daily low, and for the shootout. A drawing for 4 x US $500.00 gift certificates will be drawn at the final banquet, and can be used toward your package, or for the Casa de Campo Open in 2016 or the 2017 Spring Shootout.

Saturday, April 16th

  • Final Round of the Tournament on Teeth of the Dog
  • 2:00pm Shootout on the Teeth of the Dog for men and for ladies
  • 5:00pm Finals of the Shootout on # 9 of the Teeth of the Dog
  • 7:30pm Awards Cocktail and Dinner Banquet
