pepper steak

Last week I tried a new dish at Gino in Trastevere “Steak with green pepper sauce and dauphinoise potatoes” (RD$980) and OMG it was good!

As part of the “Semana de Francia” celebrations in Casa de Campo and Altos de Chavón from the 22nd to the 25th of March, Chef Claudio at Gino’s created the “Steak with green pepper sauce and dauphinoise potatoes” (RD$980) as part of their special French-inspired menu and the dish was so popular it has now been added to the menu as a permanent, but very special feature!

So what makes it so super special?

Both times I have tasted this delectible dish, it was done just right – in my case, medium rare. The meat was tender and delicious, with the sauce creamy and peppery, as it should be. While this is not a “light” dish, it did not feel heavy, rather just fantastic. This is a dish to which we give a hearty recommendation to anyone who might like a delicious steak in a creamy green pepper sauce.  Did I mention how much I loved it!?  And although the addition of dauphinoise potatoes may sound like all too much cream – it just adds to the deliciousness!

TIP: The “steak with green pepper sauce” is served with a choice of different potatoes – so be sure to ask for the ones you want (we strongly recommend the dauphinois)
