Mornings can be difficult for many of us. We may not want to get up and get ready for the day, instead choosing to hit the snooze button and lay in bed for a little bit longer. Once you get yourself into a perfect morning routine it makes getting up and about so much easier and you’ll look forward to each new day that is such a blessing to have. Try incorporating some of these rituals into your morning.
1. Set a positive affirmation
Positive affirmations can set the whole tone of your day and they can change from day to day. You know what you need to hear more than anyone else, so lift your spirits with some positivity. Try writing some on a pad of post-it notes and stick it on your bathroom mirror in the morning to repeat while you’re getting ready for the day. 2. Listen to your body
Too many of us are so out of touch with our bodies that just the mention of “listen to your body” can be frustrating. Your body is the smartest tool you have and it tells you exactly what it needs, you just have to quiet your mind and listen. I promise your body isn’t telling you to hit the snooze button every day. Take a few minutes of silence to bring your awareness to your physical body and see how it feels. If you’re not used to doing this it may take some time to get used to it. Trust yourself when it comes to figuring this out and the more often you do practice the easier it will become. Meditation is a great way to practice sitting in stillness.
3. Focus on the present
Let go of what went wrong yesterday and what you’re worried about happening tomorrow. Instead think about the amazing things that you are going to accomplish today. Put all your energy into today and remember that every moment is a present, a gift, and try to set your worries aside.
