Here is another edition of the Claudio’s Tips for Casa Gents, a weekly column which seeks to advise the gentlemen of the Casa de Campo community on how to dress to impress!
Every Tuesday we bring solutions and answers to topics widely discussed in terms of menswear, last week we responded to the question, should my shirt come out of my jacket sleeve? And this time we just want to make it clear that monochromatic color combinations (shirts and ties) are OUT, below Claudio explains why we must avoid such combinations and shows some alternatives for solving this very common mistake among gentlemen.
“Ties should not be the same color or tone as your shirt. Monochromatic colors are out. Add a burst of color to your outfit by making sure your tie stands out from your shirt.”
So here you have it chaps! When selecting what tie to wear with your shirt don’t choose one of a similar color or tone, chose a different color, but be careful to select something complimentary! In our next column we’ll be teaching you how to select a complimentary color, and how to avoid choosing colors that clash!
