The La Romana Bayahibe Hotel Association announces the XI La Romana Golf Tournament, scheduled for Saturday, June 15, 2024, at The Links golf course in Casa de Campo. This year’s event will honor Rafael Blanco Canto, executive vice president of Viva Resorts by Wyndham, for his significant contributions to the Dominican Republic’s tourism industry and commitment to sustainable development.

With over 37 years in the hotel industry, Rafael Blanco Canto has held key positions, including president of the National Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic (ASONAHORES) and treasurer of the Caribbean Hotel Association (CHA). He also chaired the National Council of Private Enterprise (CONEP) from 2015 to 2017. He is an honorary advisor to the Minister of Tourism and a Private Sector Country Brand Commission member.
The XI La Romana Golf Tournament highlights La Romana as a top tourist destination. The event, featuring a pair scramble format, attracts golfers nationwide to one of the region’s finest courses.
The tournament also supports a charitable cause, with part of the funds raised going to the Solca Foundation, which aids children and families in vulnerable situations in the Dominican Republic.
