Ever the cultural advocate, Dominican designer and Casa de Campo villa owner, Jenny Polanco recently celebrated the opening of Dominico Concón by Raul Recio, an artistic celebration of the unique Dominican culture.
Last Saturday August 9th, Jenny Polanco was joined by friends and art aficionados of the Casa de Campo community at her store- the Jenny Polanco Project -in Altos de Chavón, for a delightfully Dominican night! Guests enjoyed cocktails, and music presented by a typical Dominican trio, while of course admiring the artworks of Raul Recio.
Raul Recio has spent decades investigating the essence/soul of the Dominican people. His work is based on popular Dominican imagery inspired by posters, and advertisements created by the people. The resulting works are one hundred engravings, a portrayal of the idiosyncrasies of the Dominican people.
This exhibit will remain on display at the Jenny Polanco Project in Altos de Chavón until september 15th. Meanwhile this Friday August 15th at The Gallery in Altos de Chavón, Jenny Polanco is opening yet another exhibit- “Good…Bad Hair” -a collaboration with photographer Yael Duval.
