The Casa de Campo community is mourning the loss of Daniel Hernández, former general manager of Casa de Campo Resort and a cherished member of the La Romana community. Known for his ever-present smile, unwavering kindness, leadership, and dedication to hospitality, Hernández left an indelible mark on the lives of those around him.

Hernández took on the role of general manager at Casa de Campo in 2010, bringing extensive experience and a personable approach to his work. He quickly became a beloved leader, forging strong connections with employees, guests, and residents alike. His leadership style, marked by respect and compassion, earned admiration throughout the community.
During his tenure, the resort thrived under his guidance. Hernández’s passion for hospitality and commitment to enhancing guest experiences elevated Casa de Campo’s reputation. He also played a pivotal role in the region as president of the La Romana–Bayahibe Hotels Association, contributing to its growth as a premier travel destination.
A Beloved Leader and Community Member

An avid golfer and advocate for charitable causes, Hernández supported numerous philanthropic initiatives, often seen engaging with residents and visitors at events or on the golf course.

Colleagues and employees remember him as an integral and compassionate leader. “He was always smiling, always had a kind word for everyone,” recalled a team member from Casa de Campo. Hernández’s genuine care for his staff fostered a culture of mutual respect and loyalty within the resort.
At home, his influence was equally profound. His son, Juan Manuel Hernández, has often spoken about his father’s influence as a role model, describing him as both a hero and a best friend. “His daily success inspired me. Watching his passion and effort taught me the value of dedication,” Juan Manuel shared in a past interview with Casa de Campo Living.
A Legacy of Hospitality and Generosity
Originally from Colombia, Hernández formed deep roots in the Dominican Republic, having managed Dreams La Romana before joining Casa de Campo. His time at the resort included overseeing a $30 million renovation introducing world-class amenities. Community members fondly remember the vibrant atmosphere he helped cultivate, from reintroducing live music at La Caña Restaurant to his enthusiastic participation in local events.
