As we near “The Season” (December) in Casa de Campo, the Café de la Leche monthly gatherings seem to get ever more glamorous, and this was certainly the case for the most recent affair hosted by Gabby Socorro in her Casa de Campo villa in the neighborhood of Costamar.
As temperatures start to drop, it gives us the perfect excuse to glam it up whenever we step foot out of our front doors, and so it was last Friday the 1st of November, that Casa de Campo’s gorgeous ladies strutting in stunning stilettos and working bright colorful prints of the latest trends, arrived to the Casa de Campo villa of Gabby Socorro.
The monthly charitable gathering, which collects more than 60% of the milk used to nourish the 200 babies of the Hogar del Niño’s Crib Room (Sala de Cuna), was as fabulous as ever! The beautiful hostess from Venezuela entertained her guests with a variety of cocktails and champagne, as well as an impressive buffet of treats – and all in the theme of Thanksgiving / Fall with a suitably orange, red and green color theme with the most adorable pumpkin and scarecrow decorations!
Congratulations to Gaby!
The next Café de la Leche, the “Christmas Café de la Leche”, traditionally hosted by Xiomara Menendez, founder of the Hogar del Niño and the Patronato Benefico Oriental is scheduled for Friday the 13th of December and is something certainly saving the date for. Set in Xiomara’s gorgeous Casa de Campo villa in Bahía Minitas, the view at sunset is spectacular and Xiomara’s Christmas miniature village, as well as all the decorations are a must-see! Click here to see our photos of last year’s event. Remember at the Christmas Café de la Leche, rather than milk donations, the Hogar del Niño requests sweets and other treats – for the children’s Christmas party!
A BIG thank you to Bryan de la Cruz and the Hogar del Niño for sharing the photos.
The Cafe de la Leche is a monthly charitable event, a little like a coffee or a tea party held for the ladies of Casa de Campo (although men are occasionally invited) and usually takes place on the first Friday of the month, hosted by a member of the Casa de Campo villa at her Casa de Campo villa or occasionally restaurant/business.
