On Saturday the 11th of August, for the seventh consecutive year, Jose Buera opened his Casa de Campo villa for Casa de Campo visitors and residents to give in to their senses at Gael Monnin’s 7th Annual Haitian Art Exhibit.
Gael enchanted all with the warmth and complexity of Haitian culture through its art. The works of Fritzner Lamour, Reinold Clerisier, Pascale Monnin, and others complimented by cocktails, music, coffee, and conversation inspired everyone’s inner artist.
The beaded delights of Reinold Clerisier are a favorite of one resident collector, whilst the satirical expressions of Fritzner Lamour’s famous chickens dazzle viewers with bold colors and attention to detail and Pascale Monnin, Gael’s sister, captures the Haitian essence from a contemporary perspective.
Jenny Polanco and other supporters indulged in conversation and admiration of the presented works from established and innovative new artists offering individual and unique views of Haitian life, culture, and dreams.
