Tonight (Thursday the 22nd of March) the “Semana de Francia” will be officially inaugurated in Altos de Chavón and to celebrate the occasion, all of Altos de Chavón’s fine dining establishments, including our personal favorite Gino in Trastevere, will be offering special “French Menu’s” starting from tonight through to Sunday.
Inauguration of the “Semana de Francia”: Thursday March 22nd 2012 The inauguration celebrations taking place tonight are as follows: 6:30pm: Official Inauguration ceremony on the main plaza in front of the church in Altos de Chavón – accompanied by music by INTEC 7:30pm: Welcome cocktail and inauguration of new art exhibit “Soleils” by Michel Bizet at the Altos de Chavón art gallery 9pm: Live music concert with the “Gran Orchestre de Rene Coll” on the main Altos de Chavón plaza Click here to view the complete (and updated) schedule of Semana de Francia events!
Following the inauguration ceremony, the “Semana de Francia” will continue with many events across all of Casa de Campo, with Altos de Chavón hosting the majority of activities including the gastronomic, art and technological fair which has transformed it’s cobbled streets into a “petit village français,” and as part of the celebration Casa de Campo villa owners, residents and visitors can enjoy a taste of France, here’s a summary of what will be available……

A taste of France in Altos de Chavón: Thursday March 22nd – Sunday March 25th 

Italian – French fusion at Gino in Trastevere Gino in Trastevere, the authentic Italian restaurant with a magnificent view of the Chavón river will not only be offering diners it’s superb Italian delicacies but also a specially prepared selection of fine French cuisine – prepared by chef Claudio and overseen by French culinary expert, Christine. French specialities on offer at Gino’s will be: • Salade niçoise • Quiche lorraine • Filet au poivre vert et gratin dauphinois (steak filet with green pepper sauce and dauphinois potatoes) • Tarte au citrin meringuée (lemon merengue pie)
Guest chefs of “Le Domain du Barbossi” and Gregory Púgin, executive chef of Le Cirque Las Vegas presents “La Piazzetta Brasserie” Being served at La Piazzetta Brasserie from Thursday March 22nd through to Sunday March 25th, is a very special “French” menu which has been created by distinguished invited chefsGregory Pugin, executive chef of Le Cirque Las Vegas and on behalf of Le Domaine de Barbossi, Robert Remi chef de cuisine, Eric Bonneau patisserie chef. L’entrecote at Papa Jack’s In honor of the “Semana de Francia”, Papa Jack’s is bringing back their “L’entrecote de Paris” menu which they featured in August 2011: • Croissant: US$2 • Crepes Mariniere: US$10 • L’Entrecote Classique: US27 • Moules Marinieres: US$22
