From tomorrow Friday May 1st to Monday May 4th, the 48th annual Dominican National Golf Championships hosted by the Dominican National Federation of Golf (FEDOGOLF) will be played on the Dye Fore.

More than 110 golfers will take part in the tournament which will be played in a “Golf Medal Play” format. This year the tournament, organized by FEDOGOLF (the Dominican National Federation of Golf), with principal sponsor Asociación La Nacional de Ahorros y Préstamos will be played in the principal 18 holes of the Pete Dye design course located on the banks of the Chavón river.

The culminating event of the Dominican National Golf Tour, the Dominican National Golf Championships (the “Campeonatos Nacionales”) is one of the biggest and most important golfing events in the Dominican Republic – at the end of which all participating golfers receive their oficial golf rank in the Dominican Republic and the winners of the various categories received prizes and trophies to recognize their achievements, with the most successful players offered the chance to represent the country in the Caribbean Amateur Golf Championships.

The golfers on the categories A, AA, Mid-Amateur, Senior A, Super Senior and Ladies A, will be playing for four days (72 holes), while the general categories will compete in 54 holes. In both cases, participants will seek to become champion and runner-up in their respective divisions.

Competing in the A category will be 75 golfers, while in the general, composed of the male divisions B, C and D, B and C Senior and Ladies B, and C will be 35 players. In the A category golfers will be seeking for a position to participate in the “Casa de Campo Dominican Republic Open 2015” to be held from the 4th to 7th of June on the Teeth of the Dog golf course in Casa de Campo.
