As part of the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the emblematic Altos de Chavón Amphitheater, Wilfrido Vargas filled this well-known stage with the rhythm of merengue closing this great celebration.
With a spectacular two-hour concert, the award-winning Dominican artist began with successful songs such as “Africano”, “Todo es para ti” and “El loco y la luna”. “Thank you once again for inviting me and coming to celebrate with us,” he said, recalling that he was the first Dominican tropical artist to perform at the newly opened Altos de Chavón.
The interpreter of “Comején” continued to share his repertoire and adding songs that have earned him international recognition and become one of the greatest exponents and promoters of the güira and tambora genre, such as “Deme un consejo”, “Perro/Volveré” and “Medicina”
The concert was closed with “El jardinero”, an iconic song from 1984, and “Hombre divertido”, which dates back to 1983 and songs also celebrate 40 years of their release.
It should be noted that in addition to the successful concert by Wilfrido Vargas, “Sinatra, el tribute” was performed as part of the celebration, directed by Amaury Sánchez, and interesting activities were carried out such as the exhibition “40 laps around the sun”.
