Last Friday November 18th, Chinois Restaurant hosted an opening cocktail and art show for Miguel Ulloa. The exhibition presented various works by the Dominican artist and proceeds from sales went to benefit the Clínica de Familia La Romana.
The opening saw Casa de Campo community members and locals visit the popular dining spot not only to view Miguel Ulloa’s intriguing work but also support the non-profit, non-governmental organization that provides health care services to La Romana. Due to the rain, all of the paintings were exhibited indoors but that didn’t stop people from heading out of their homes to see the show!
Miguel Ulloa was born in Puerto Plata and has developed a career exhibiting work in Santo Domingo, Panama and around the world. His works are in permanent displays in both national and international museums and galleries, and he is an active member of the Dominican Association of Plastic Artists (CODAP), affiliated with the International Association (AIAP) and the UNESCO. We were very happy to see Chinois Restaurant and locals supporting Dominican art and an organization as important as Clínica de Familia.
Chinois will soon host another event next week, a Peruvian buffet featuring Chef Freddy Padovani. Stay tuned for further announcement! The following gallery features pictures of the event taken by Fernando Grullon, on Friday, November 19th.
