On the evening of Thursday, April 25, Emilia and J. Pepe Fanjul warmly welcomed guests to La Casita Restaurant, inaugurating the “Pre-Shoot Cocktail Party & Dinner” and heralding the start of the 37th annual Sugar Shooting Tournament. Against the backdrop of the tournament’s storied history, participants and attendees gathered to share in camaraderie and excitement.

Despite the tournament’s start earlier in the week, with a fun night shooting event, practice rounds at the Casa de Campo shooting center and European-style driven bird shoot at Rancho Peligro, the official welcome event was reserved for Thursday evening. This tradition may seem unconventional, but it’s deeply rooted in the tournament’s history, consistently falling on the Thursday of the event.

Guests enjoyed an evening of lively conversation complemented by refreshing drinks, exquisite cuisine, and discussions on the sport’s global landscape.

The tournament’s energy persisted through subsequent days, with competitions unfolding at the Casa de Campo shooting center on Friday and Saturday, culminating in a grand prize-giving ceremony and dinner at Casa Grande on Saturday evening, celebrating a week marked by sportsmanship and camaraderie.
