La Extraña, the first movie ever to be shot almost entirely within the Casa de Campo resort is now showing in Puerto Rico!
Not only is La Extraña an excellent movie, filmed here in Casa de Campo, but it also boasts the legendary Sergio Gobbi, a Casa de Campo villa owner as executive producer, who with more than 45 years experience worked alongside another Casa de Campo local, Leo Proaño, who is the movie’s producer.
While La Extraña, starring Dominican movie stars Frank Perozo and Evelyna Rodríguez, celebrated it’s worldwide premier here in the Marina Casa de Campo on May 9th of this year (click here for photos), La Extraña is celebrating it’s premier in Puerto Rico today, Thursday August 28th!

Not only is it a great achievement for a Dominican movie to open in another country, but with La Extraña bringing the beauty of the Dominican Republic, and Casa de Campo to Puerto Rico – we can no doubt expect an influx of Puerto Rican visitors! After all with Seaborne Airlines jetting into the La Romana airport from San Juan on a daily basis – what are they waiting for!?
La Extraña tells the story of a “passionate yet mysterious love affair” that unfolds right here in the Casa de Campo resort. Locations used in the making of La Extraña include Altos de Chavón – the St. Stanislaus church and The Club riverside restaurant, the Casa de Campo hotel – the main lobby and front entrance, the gas station, the Dye Fore golf course and the Marina Casa de Campo – the Casa de Campo Yacht Club and the Azimut café. Setting sail outside of Casa de Campo, filming also took place at Catalina island and Palmilla.
