Oh so heavenly! There is nothing as beautiful or as relaxing as a quiet day at Minitas beach; when the water is crystal clear and calm, the skies are blue and the beach is blissfully deserted!

This week’s photo of Casa de Campo’s private beach, and little slice of paradise was taken by my best friend Caroline Healy, during her holiday here in August of last year. Ironically this photo was taken just a few days before Hurricane Irene passed to the north of the Dominican Republic, bringing such heavy rains that Minitas beach had to be closed for a few days, whilst the beach was cleaned up and beautified!

Of course NOW is the time to seis the day and enjoy a calm and quiet Minitas Beach – next week, Thanksgiving week with the arrival of a rather large number of American tourists, as well as visitors from Santo Domingo we can expect that our beloved Minitas Beach may get a little more crowded in the days ahead…….with crowds peaking next Saturday the 26th of November, during the 2nd annual “Joli-Day Beach” event – a fun day for all the family, with water slides, water games, family olympics, a beach BBQ and even a Swimwear Fashion show!
