Casa de Campo Resort & Villas celebrated International Yoga Day on June 21 with a morning yoga and meditation session on the shores of Minitas Beach. Led by wellness experts Kira Montagu and Jackie Arvelo, the event brought together guests and residents for a peaceful morning of movement, breathwork and reflection.
Yoga Meets the Sea

Set against the sound of crashing waves and the warmth of the morning sun, the beach provided an ideal setting for reconnecting with mind and body. Participants flowed through a series of grounding poses, focusing on their breath and awareness. The session blended physical movement with mindfulness, providing an opportunity to pause and reset.
“Yoga helps us slow down, release stress and feel grounded in the present,” said Montagu in a previous interview with Casa de Campo Living. “It’s accessible to everyone, regardless of age or experience.”
The event drew a diverse group of participants who joined the session, creating an inclusive atmosphere where all skill levels felt at home. From gentle stretches to more advanced poses, the experience emphasized flexibility, strength and inner calm.

The event highlighted yoga’s universal appeal, drawing attention to its mental and physical benefits, from reducing anxiety to improving posture and cardiovascular health.
A Local Celebration With Global Roots
First recognized by the United Nations in 2014, International Yoga Day celebrates the ancient practice’s role in promoting global wellness. Casa de Campo’s beachfront session mirrored that spirit of unity and health, encouraging participants to engage not only with themselves but also with the surrounding environment.
The gathering offered more than just exercise. It served as a reminder of the importance of carving out space for well-being in daily life. With its natural beauty and dedication to community wellness, Casa de Campo continues to stand out as a place where health, mindfulness and leisure come together.
