Last night, the Casa de Campo Hotel with golf magazine Golf Digest/Golf World, launched a smartphone app for the Teeth of the Dog golf course – which for those of us who don’t have smartphones – also includes an online component of its best feature – a virtual tour of the course.
Not only is the Teeth of the Dog by Pete Dye, the Dominican Republic’s #1 golf course and the #22 golf course worldwide (according to Golf Digest) – but now we can all enjoy a visit to the Teeth of the Dog, without even leaving our homes – something which will no doubt inspire golfers to come and play Casa de Campo’s most famous course for themselves!

Undoubtedly the apps best feature is the “fly-over” (also available online – see below), an extremely accurate representation of each hole – showing not only the tee boxes, greens and fairways, but also the golf cart tracks, the trees, the ocean, the sand traps and even the undulations in the terrain. As someone who has walked on the Teeth numerous times, the only thing this virtual fly-over is missing – is the breathtaking beauty of the course – when you’re there in person, the beauty of this place surrounds you; from the magnificent villas to the flowering trees to the gently lapping ocean and the birds flying by. It’s an excellent representation – but no substitue for the real thing – so… we look forward to seeing you down here my friends!
