Grass skirts, leis, delicious tropical cocktails… are you ready for an Hawaiian Café de la Leche and pool party!?

Well we hope you are, because next Friday July 11th, Ana Maria (Malele) Strofer is hosting exactly that – a Hawaiian themed Café de la Leche and pool party – and you are very cordially invited to join the fun!

Patricia Proano, Gricelle Lahoz

“I decided to support the Hogar del Niño because it’s a good cause and they deserve all the support we can give them, but also because it’s a fun way to get everyone together,” Ana Maria told Casa de Campo Living.

Scheduled to start at 4pm, yes that’s right 4pm, not 5pm as is the Café de la Leche custom, this month’s edition of this charitable gathering for the Hogar del Niño, is all set to be the perfect summertime soirée!

So why exactly is the gathering starting so early? Well for the best imaginable reason… “so that we can all swim in the pool” explained Malele, “I decided to do a luau party because it’s been so hot lately”, our fun-loving hostess added.

And yes it IS a costume party.. so go planning your luau pool-party get-up now!

So who is Malele Strofer? Well, apart from being one of our most cheerful members of the Casa de Campo community, Malele is actually also a graduate of the Altos de Chavón School of Design. Over the last few years we’ve seen Malele exhibit her artworks at the Altos de Chavón art gallery in art exhibit the ‘Mujer Enamorada!’ alongside Ónice Mejía, América Olivo, Miguelina Rivera, Sara Martínez, Rafaela Luna and Ivonne Vélez Cordero (click here for photos), as well as at the Jenny Polanco Project in Altos de Chavón where she showcased “Caribe Michero with a twist” as well as her beautiful collection of lamps made from recycled glass bottles.

And it is this artistic talent that has led our friend Malele to her current career… events planning. You see Malele is one of the “tres” (three) of Tres Eventos, a company based here in Casa de Campo who plan really spectacular weddings and other events. Keeping that in mind you can understand why we should all be very excited about this upcoming Café de la Leche event – after all who better to plan an outstanding occasion than someone who does it (and does it very well) for a living!?

About the Café de la Leche

Café de la Leche Xiomara Matos

The Cafe de la Leche is a monthly charitable event, a little like a coffee or a tea party held for the ladies of Casa de Campo (although men are occasionally invited) and usually takes place on the first Friday of the month, hosted by a member of the Casa de Campo villa at her Casa de Campo villa or occasionally restaurant/business.
