Everyday is a good day for golf in Casa de Campo, and with the views from the Teeth of the Dog there was no beating this exceptional afternoon. The weather was perfect, a little warm but with a nice breeze. The holes along the ocean were indeed the finest, providing a picturesque backdrop for some photos and cooling players off with the strongest wind.
Around 19 players in total divided into groups and took off on separate holes starting at 2:30p.m. With some close scores all around the winning team with a Net Score of 66 included ALS teachers Ian and Jonny along with Casa de Campo’s golf director, Robert Birtel (pictured right). 2nd place included Heath, Lewis and Matías with 67. While three teams tied for third! Among them, ALS’s Headmaster Harry Magee with Luke and Lenny; Joel, Laura, John and Tom; and Colin, James and Billy — all with a Net Score of 68. Alan, Sharon and Paul came in just shy of the others at 69.
The golfing afternoon acted as a “Thank you” to the Abraham Lincoln School teachers for their work throughout the year, six of whom even assist with the Jr. Golf Academy. The Jr. Golf Academy recently celebrated some fun end-of-the-year competitions of their own and will begin their Summer Camp in just 10 days. We wish the Abraham Lincoln School teachers a big farewell as most head home for the summer following tonight’s graduation. We hope to see many of them back again next year having more fun on Casa’s golf courses!
