Casa de Campo Wedding MinitasThey say beauty lies in the simple things. A concept embraced by Joshua Allen and Gail Worthington who wed in an intimate, yet beautiful sunset wedding on Minitas Beach this summer. With only 13 of their closest family members at the ceremony these two created an atmosphere of calmness and intimacy, that perfectly suited their personalities and they were glad Casa de Campo could provide not only a magnificent locations, but also the privacy they were looking for.

Casa de Campo wedding minitas Joshua and Gail live in Baltimore, where Joshua works as a Bank Manager and Gail is a hairstylist, and following their enagement the couple chose the Casa de Campo resort at the perfect place to celebrate one of the most important days of their lives. As it turns out, it was another wedding that led them to this wedding. The couple had known each other since high school, but it was not until his sister’s wedding in Mexico that they looked at each other in a new light. With this their love story began and the rest, as they say, is history. For Joshua who sought amazing golfing opportunities and Gail who simply needed a beach and a book, Casa de Campo was the perfect fit. Being both very laid-back and so making the theme of their wedding “relax and enjoy” they walked barefoot down aisle, with Gail’s gorgeous blonde curls perfectly in keeping with the beach scenery. Gail’s father walked escorted her down the aisle to hand her over to the love of her life, while her mother played the role of Matron of Honor and Joshua’s father was his best man.

The happy couple reading their handwritten vows Casa de Campo wedding Minitas

When asked what was the best part of their wedding the couple said it was when they poured their hearts out to each other by reading their handwritten vows, which made it personal and unique. And the fact is that this was a wedding where what shone was not the decoration or her dress or the cake, but their romance. They made their wedding as simple and as pure as their love and combined with an amazing Minitas sunset -w hich seemed the heavens had saved just for them – the wedding resulted in what Gail herself describes as just “perfect”. Casa de Campo wedding minitasAfter the ceremony they enjoyed a candlelit reception at the Dye Fore terrace in Altos de Chavon, where the guests were delighted with exquisite food, an impressive view and even some bachata lessons from the staff! Most importantly for them all though was that they could watch the AFC Championship at the reception and it turns out that even their preferred football team, the Ravens, presented them with a wedding gift – much to everybody’s joy and excitement – as they beat the New England Patriots that night and then went on to win the Superbowl! The cherry on top for an absolutely magnificent wedding! When we asked about their experience of marrying in Casa de Campo and whether they would recommend it Gail replied, “Yes! We couldn’t have asked for anything better; there really is no other place in the world quite like it. And make sure you ask for Bibia Marte, Casa de Campo is amazing but she really made our wedding something to remember.”
