Although technically the Dominican Republic only enjoys two seasons; wet and dry… now that the Fall season has officially started in countries in the northern hemisphere, we thought it’d be fun to bring you 9 signs that fall has arrived to Casa de Campo.
1. Mist over the Chavón river.
Mist is somewhat of a rarity in tropical climates, yet at this time of the year, nearly every morning the Chavón river is engulfed in fog. The sight is both magical and beautiful- for those who get up early enough to enjoy it!

2. Butterflies are everywhere.
Yes everywhere. As we come up to the end of butterfly season these gorgeous creatures can be seen fluttering all around the resort. Click here for our article on the butterflies most commonly seen in Casa de Campo.

2. The Flamboyant turn green.
Thoughout the summer months, the entire Casa de Campo resort is resplendent with the fiery orange flower of the Flamboyant tree. Now that fire has been put out, its flowers have been replaced by bright green seed pods.
4. It’s greener!
It rains a little more at this time of year, and the result of that is that it is much greener everywhere!
5. There is a distinct lack of flowers!
Another reason that it seems so green right now is because there is less flowers blooming that at any other time. Why? Because now is the time when the Flamboyant are fading and the bougainvillea are yet to bloom in all their glory. Bougainvillea actually bloom all year round, but they don’t like the rain, so their numbers are more reduced now, than during the dry (winter) season.
6. All the golf courses are open again
Over the summer, the Casa de Campo golf department closes the golf courses in rotation for maintenance – and now they are all open again!

7. Seagrapes are bearing fruit – and it’s edible!
Seagrapes which have been growing since August are now ripening and ready to eat and enjoy! This is also the time of year when their leaves start to change color. CLICK here to read 10 things you didn’t know about seagrapes!

8. We are gripped by Baseball fever!
The Dominican baseball season opens every year in mid-October and this year it starts officially on October 15th. The inaugural game will take place at the Francisco Micheli Stadium in La Romana between Los Toros and Las Estrellas!

9. The fall editions of TODO Casa de Campo and CasaLife Magazine are in circulation.
So now that fall has arrived, sit back and relax with your favorite Casa de Campo magazines!
